Styling our blog

So we've made our first blog, now how do we style it. on the left sidebar, go to the "Layout" options and you should see a few settings inside.


You can edit the parts in these groups. The "Sidebar top" section allows you to add gadgets and edit the top part of the sidebar on the site. While the "Sidebar Bottom" is the bottom side of the sidebar. The right side is the body of the site. The first group is the header part of the site. with the search, which allows you to edit the label for the search. the header, which allows you to edit the header title and the image background. and the "Page List", which allows you to show the different pages of your site.

The next group is for ads, which well, is where your adds are gonna be.

Below is the body of your site, which shows your posts. which shows the "featured posts", "all posts", and most "popular post". clicking on the pencil icon allows you to edit these sections and change how many posts, what posts should come up, what parts of the post should pop up, etc.

Changing our theme

Now that we know where and how to change the layout, let's go and change the theme of our site. To start, click on the "Theme" section on the left sidebar of our starting page. Which will send you to this page.

There is a ton of different themes already built in for us. pick one by clicking on the image. You can click on "Preview" to see how the theme looks like in our site. "Customize" which we will get into later. for now click on "Apply" to our apply our theme. Once finish go ahead and look at our site and see that our site had the theme we chose applied to.

Want to change some things on our theme, go ahead and click on "customize". But wait, before we do that, let's make a backup of the base theme just in case things go wrong (Which probably will). click on the drop down arrow and click backup. then click on download and download the theme somewhere on your device. Now that we have a backup, let's customize our theme.


We should be sent to a page as seen above. Go ahead and change the image for your background, change the Main color theme of your site. Click on the advanced dropdown menu to edit the rest on the page. Clicking on the first dropdown shows you the different aspects of the site you can change. while scrolling further shows you what parts you can change for it. Below is an example video.




Once you finish, click on save at the bottom right of the screen, you should be able to see on your site the changes you've done.
