Welcome to my for beginners by beginners, a blog on how to use Blogger from a beginner's perspective.

to make a blog

after making your account, from the top left you can see a "Create Blog" button. click on it and type a name for your blog. after that type in an address for your website. no spaces or special characters, just letters. Use CamelCase when writing your address. And a note, because this site is old, a lot of simple and popular addresses have already been used. so get creative.

Once you finish, you will be sent to this page.

don't worry, those are some post I already made, for you it should be empty. so let's fix that. For now, let's focus on the "Post" section.

to make a post

Once you made your blog, you will be sent to a new interface. let's focus on the first thing, creating a post. which you can see at the left navigation. You can see a "create post", click on it.

after you click on the button, you'll get sent to a new interface which looks like this:

Type in a title and your content. In the picture above you can see that the content is this post iteself. You can insert images and videos, and also videos in Youtube or from your own. Have fun and mess around with the settings at the bar below the title. 

You can also change between an html view the view you are now. If you know some html, you can even style your content while you're in here. but for now let's focus on the detailed view.

clicking the arrow by the logo sends you back to the main interface. But remember to save your post first before going back to the main hub. we'll get to that once we're satisfied with our content.

at the top right of the screen, there is a Preview button to see what your site would look like before you can publish it. The publish button is also there to finally let your post go out into the world. Click on that once you're done with making your post and post it. Don't worry, you'll get to update that post later in this blog. You can also publish the post on a specific date by clicking the "Publish on" drop down at the right sidebar. 

Editing your blog

When you publish a post, you can see it appear in the main page. Like the post you saw in the previous picture. When you hover on your post, you can share the post, see the amount of views, revert it to a draft, and even sending it to the archive.

Seeing our site

if you want to see your site, you can see the "View Blog" button at the left bar. Or you can see a preview the post by clicking the "Preview" button beside the "publish" or "update" button.

Labeling our blog

If we want our users to be able to filter our blog, we have to label it. Go to your post and at the right side bar, type in a label and click enter. Once you saved, you can use that label to other posts as well.

Oh and one more thing, there is a "help" section if you click on the question mark located at the top right near your profile picture and the grid of dots.
